About the BC Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial
Every biennial, we gather for the BC Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial on the south lawn of the BC Legislature in Victoria to honour those fire fighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
When called upon, Fire Fighters risk their lives for the benefit of others, and as a result of the dangerous occupation, some will fall. On this day, we pay tribute to our brave men and women in the highest honour. We remember and salute them as heroes running towards danger and putting one’s self in harms way.
The leadership of the BC Professional Fire Fighters will continue to advocate and lobby for best practices in occupational health and safety so that tragic losses of our men and women are prevented, and so families do not suffer the loss of their loved ones succumbing to occupational hazards of the job.
