IAFF LODD Submission Form
Notify 6th District DVP and fill out the IAFF LODD form using your officer log-in on the IAFF dashboard. Once approved; information on LODD ‘s can be found here: IAFF LODD Search Database. Once this is done, notify the BCPFFA office and we will upload the information to our BC Memorial page.
W.H. “Howie” McClennan Scholarship
The W. H. “Howie” McClennan scholarship provides financial assistance for sons, daughters or legally adopted children of fire fighters killed in the line of duty planning to attend a university, accredited college or other institution of higher learning.
Application for Federal Memorial Grant Program for First Responders
In recognition of the critical role of first responders in protecting Canadians, the Memorial Grant Program for First Responders provides a one-time lump sum, tax-free maximum payment of $300,000 to the families of first responders who have died as a result of their duties. On December 21st, 2020, a planned expansion to include the beneficiaries of correctional, parole and probation officers was announced. Here’s how to apply.

The following IAFF Funeral protocol is to assist IAFF local affiliates in the event of a line-of-duty death of a member. The following information is solely provided for assistance purposes, each individual affiliate should evaluate its local conditions and utilize, amend or change these recommendations accordingly.

Surrey Fire Fighters Pipe & Drums Band
The Surrey Firefighters Pipes & Drums Band (SFFPD) is a highland bagpipe and drum band in British Columbia, Canada. The band is comprised of fire fighters (active & retired) from various IAFF locals in BC (Surrey, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Richmond, Delta, Burnaby) and will welcome any band member from other BC Locals to join the team. The SFFPD band is called on often to participate at a variety of events such as Line of Duty Death memorials (BC Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial), parades, and local community events. Please note, locals need to consider costs for the band regarding travel outside the lower mainland.
