TODD SCHIERLING, PRESIDENT

Biography

Todd was hired with Surrey Fire Service in 1996 and is a Captain in fire suppression. He previously served on the Surrey Local 1271 executive board from 2006 to 2016, serving as Trustee, Registrar, and Treasurer. During his tenure he served as an Executive Director of the Surrey Fire Fighters' Charitable Society.

Todd was acclaimed as President at the 2023 BCPFFA Convention. Previously, Todd was elected as Secretary-Treasurer of the BCPFFA at the 2016 Convention, acclaimed in 2018 and 2021 Conventions.

Todd is a representative on the following,

• BCPFFA Executive Board as President/Chair;

• BCPFF Burn Fund Board of Directors as Chair/President appointee;

• Municipal Pension Plan Board of Trustees as Police /Fire appointee;

• BC Federation of Labour Executive Council as IAFF appointee;

• Field Service Rep., IAFF 6th District;

• BC First Responder’ Mental Health Committee

Todd is a recipient of following service recognitions include

• Kings Charles III Coronation Medeal (2022)

• Local 1271 Lorne West Axe Award (2020),

• Surrey Community Leadership Award (2019)

• Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2013)

Todd enjoys family time, and when time permits he enjoys playing the occasional round of golf.
